Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using SubPolice (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

SubPolice is developed and maintained by Akshan Technologies (“we,” “our,” or “us”).

2. Description of Service

SubPolice is a free Android application that helps users track and manage their recurring subscriptions. The App uses Android's NotificationListenerService to detect subscription renewals from push notifications. All subscription data is stored locally on the user's device.

The App is available as a free version (with advertisements) and an optional yearly subscription (“SubPolice Premium”) that unlocks additional features.

3. User Accounts

SubPolice does not require account creation. No personal identification information (name, email, phone number) is collected or required to use the App.

4. Notification Access Permission

SubPolice requests Notification Access permission to automatically detect subscription-related notifications. This permission is:

  • Entirely optional — the App functions fully without it
  • Revocable at any time through Android Settings
  • Used solely for on-device processing — no notification content is transmitted to any server

5. Subscription Data

All subscription data you enter or that is detected by the App is stored exclusively on your device. You are responsible for:

  • The accuracy of manually entered subscription information
  • Reviewing and confirming auto-detected subscriptions
  • Managing your own backups if you wish to preserve data

SubPolice provides tools to detect and organize your subscriptions but does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of auto-detected information. Always verify subscription details with the service provider.

6. Subscriptions & Billing

SubPolice Premium is available as an auto-renewing yearly subscription through Google Play.

  • Payment is charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase
  • The subscription automatically renews each year unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from Google Play Store → Subscriptions
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then
  • Refunds are subject to Google Play's refund policies

Pricing may vary by region. Current pricing is displayed within the App and on the Google Play Store listing. Any price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing period.

7. Intellectual Property

SubPolice, including its name, logo, design, code, and content, is the intellectual property of Akshan Technologies. All rights are reserved.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works based on the App without prior written consent.

8. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
  • Use the App to collect data about other users
  • Redistribute or resell the App or any part of it

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

SubPolice is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. Auto-detection of subscriptions is not guaranteed to capture all services or amounts accurately.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Akshan Technologies shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of the App.

SubPolice is a tracking and reminder tool. We are not responsible for any financial losses resulting from missed cancellations, incorrect detection, or any actions taken based on information provided by the App.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, the “Last Updated” date will be revised. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
