During onboarding, SubPolice checks your installed apps against its catalog of 575+ subscription services. Detected apps are pre-selected for one-tap setup. It only checks apps from our known list — we can’t see your other apps. Everything stays on-device.
SubPolice detects the change every time you open the app. If you install a new subscription app, it asks if you subscribe. If you uninstall a tracked app, it asks if you cancelled. You can dismiss or act on each prompt.
To power AI-based auto-detection. SubPolice uses on-device AI pattern matching to read notification titles and identify subscription renewals. No notification content is stored or sent anywhere — raw text is discarded immediately after processing.
All subscription data stays on your device in a local database. SubPolice never sends your financial data to any server. No email or SMS access is needed. Installed-app scanning is fully on-device — no app list data ever leaves your phone.

Yes! Tap 'Add Subscription' then 'Scan Receipt' (premium). Point your camera at any payment receipt or invoice — SubPolice uses on-device ML Kit OCR to extract the service name and amount automatically. You can also pick an image from your gallery.
SubPolice checks your subscriptions against a catalog of services that offer family or group plans. If you're paying the solo rate for a service like Netflix, Spotify, or YouTube Premium, it shows you how much you could save by switching to a family plan and splitting the cost.
Yes — Settings → Backup & Data → Backup Data. Your data is encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a password you set, then saved as a .subpolice file you can store anywhere. Restore on any device from the same Settings menu.
